Spare sume change, guv?
According to the rumours on one of the sites, everyone can walk an average of 20-25km a day. I would hope i could do a bit more once i get going. The costs i'm going to have to meet are for accommodation, breakfast, lunch and diner.
As soon as i am on the main route and can use the Albergues and Refugios (hostels only for pilgrims), my bed seems to average around 9 Euro. I would think breakfast and lunch i would most of the time buy something at a supermarket and picnic. Maybe 5 Euro? Leaves dinner, think needs to be a cooked meal with all that walking. It's rumoured at around 9 Euro.
Let's call it 25 Euro a day, one Euro/Kilometre.
I have not decided on a specific route already.
(check my options here)
I hope to do that during our time in South Africa. So i have now idea how far i am going to walk. Hopefully quite a bit, depending on you guys out there... I hope on a minimum of 750/800 km. (1 kilometre = 0.62 miles)
Hopefully 1000...
Maybe a bit more?
